Appointments

We offer a full Telephone Triage service.

- Phone the surgery as close to 830am to book a telephone consultation with a GP. This can be a routine problem or an urgent problem. Be aware appointments go very quickly at which stage only urgent calls can be put on a list for the GPs, who may call you back that day but if the demand is to great, they may not be able to ring you back so please ring again the next morning as close to 8.30am

- The GP will ring you back on the number you provide any time after your telephone consultation is booked until 1pm the same day. Please keep your phone with you, the doctors cannot repeatedly try your phone line, if you miss the call, they will move on to their next telephone consultation.

- The GP will determine whether a face to face appointment is appropriate and book this with you at the time of your telephone consult.

- GP's ask that you provide a brief description for your telephone call to the receptionist in order for them to triage the call, e.g. Emergency calls will be phoned back first.

- On occasion it may be more appropriate for you to ring 999 or attend A&E, this maybe advised.

- Once all telephone consultations have been booked there are no further appointments to offer, this may happen before 930am each day.

If you cannot attend for your appointments please let us know as soon as possible so that the cancellation may be offered to another patient whose need may be urgent.

Telephone Advice

Sometimes when you need advice regarding a health problem it may be appropriate to request a telephone call from a GP.  Telephone calls are made after morning surgery.  We would therefore ask our patients to ring before 9.30 AM to request a telephone call from the doctor.

Please note there are very limited appointments available for GP telephone advice.  

This service is not available in the afternoon.

Home Visits

Home visits are solely for those patients who are too ill or infirm to attend the surgery. To request a home visit please try to telephone the surgery before 10am. This will help the GPs to plan their rounds.

Please do not abuse this service. Remember that a doctor can see several patients at surgery in the time it may take to carry out one home visit. This means that the GP can use time more effectively and can also respond quickly to emergencies that may arise.
